ACUTO
The suspended village
With its panoramic terrace over the Sacco valley, Acuto is a charming village that has small lanes and small squares. Legend has it that it was founded by Anagninians in 450 A.D., but some recent archaeological findings attest to the fact that it was founded even earlier. Acuto’s link with Anagni has always been inseparable, and even today the Bishop of Anagni bears the title Count of Acuto. A medieval castle stands in the centre of the village, next to the beautiful church of Santa Maria Assunta. The church of St. Sebastian at the entrance of the town features interesting frescoes.
